JERUSALEM, Jan. 24 (Xinhua) -- The China Cultural Center in the Israeli city of Tel Aviv on Tuesday held a concert to celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year as well as the 31st anniversary of China-Israel diplomatic ties.
In front of over 100 participants from both countries, artists performed pieces including Nessun Dorma and Jasmine Flower, among others, in chamber music, tenor, soprano, and piano solos.
This is the first in-person Chinese New Year celebration held by the China Cultural Center in Tel Aviv over the past three years, said Shi Yuewen, director of the center.
He added that the concert also coincided with the 31st anniversary of China-Israel diplomatic ties, making the concert even more special and meaningful.
"It's a high-level concert featuring both Western and Chinese music so I enjoyed it a lot," said Gal Furer, chairman of the Israel-China Friendship Society.
"Our bilateral ties have been well-developed and I expect closer cooperation in various fields to take place this year," said Furer.
On Jan. 24, 1992, China and Israel signed an agreement on establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries.
