MANAMA, 4th January, 2023 (WAM) -- The Kingdom of Bahrain strongly condemned the storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque courtyard by an Israeli minister, the state news agency (BNA) reported.
In a statement on Tuesday, the ministry noted that "this provocative act was a violation of the principles of international law."
The ministry stressed the need to respect the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem and the custodial role of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan over the holy sites and endowments in accordance with international resolutions.
The ministry called for "de-escalating the situation, exercising restraint and refraining from any acts that could heighten tensions in the holy sites."
