KUWAIT CITY -- The Kuwaiti emir on Tuesday issued an order accepting the resignation of the government, the official Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.

ADEN, Yemen -- The United Nations Special Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg on Tuesday arrived in the southern Yemeni port city of Aden for a two-day visit, amid efforts to push the country's warring parties to uphold a fragile UN-brokered ceasefire.

JERUSALEM -- Israel on Tuesday denied it has approved Jordan's request to increase the number of waqf staff at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in Jerusalem, also known to Jews as Temple Mount.

Jordan requested to add 50 waqf staff at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound about a month and a half ago, and "Israel did not find it appropriate to accede to the request," Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett's office said in a statement. (Israel-Al-Aqsa Mosque-Staff-Increase)

ALGIERS -- Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune met with visiting Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Tuesday, as the two countries marked the 60th anniversary of the official ties.
