JERUSALEM, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) -- Israeli basketball Super League club Maccabi Rishon LeZion has signed former NBA player Anthony Brown, the club announced on Wednesday.
The 29-year-old swingman played college basketball at Stanford before being selected with the 34th overall pick by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2015 NBA draft.
His NBA career, which lasted until 2018, included 29 games for the Lakers and 12 more for the New Orleans Pelicans, Orlando Magic and Minnesota Timberwolves.
In his 41 NBA games, Brown averaged 3.9 points, 2.5 rebounds and 0.7 assists in 18.6 minutes per game.
He then began his European career, which included stints at Partizan, Limoges, Fuenlabrada, Metropolitans 92 and Bursaspor.
Maccabi Rishon is currently in last place in the Israeli league, and recently fired head coach Guy Goodes, who also head coaches the Israeli national team.
